Rain of medals for Son Antem at the Decanter World Wine Awards 2024 – the largest and the most influential wine competition in the world
The Decanter World Wine Award (DWWA) is the largest and the most influential wine competition in the world. We are incredibly happy and proud to have been awarded, not just one, but six medals!
A gold medal for our Camins de Mallorca, silver medals for Son Antem Alba and Son Antem Vespre as well as bronze medals for Camins Callet, Son Antem Sa Tanca and Son Antem Fosca.
”Attractive aromas of red berry, cherry and cranberry which merge sumptuously with the delicate tannins and captivating bite of refreshing acidity. Expressive, harmonious and delectably long”, writes Decanter’s tasting panel about Camins de Mallorca 2022.
These accolades mean a lot to us. First of all, it is an acknowledgement of the journey we started only five years ago when we planted the vineyard south of Alaró in Mallorca.
Above all, it is a recognition of our work and of our drive to produce high-quality wines that reflect their place of origin – as well as of our belief in Mallorca’s limestone soils, proximity to the sea’s cooling breeze and the island’s bright light, which combined together, can produce wines with both aromatic intensity and freshness.
– The DWWA medals give Son Antem’s young journey as a wine estate further inspiration for the future. We hope that it will spread even more interest in Mallorca as a wine region and open up new markets for our wines, says winegrower and owner Johan Lidby.
Decanter World Wine Awards’ distinguished panel of nearly 250 leading wine experts, including 20 Master Sommeliers and 61 Masters of Wine, blind-tasted 18 143 wines from 57 countries.
